Visitation Academy - Frederick, Maryland - Founded 1846 Honoring our past, preparing for their future
This August marks the 165th academic year here at the Visitation Academy. We look back proudly on our legacy of educational excellence, a strong Catholic identity, and beloved traditions with a sense of grace and purpose. We are bound to the promise made by the Visitation Sisters in 1846 to meet the educational, spiritual, and emotional needs of girls in Frederick County and beyond our local community.
In a time that challenges girls to navigate their future and remain true to who they are, the Visitation Academy supports girls in being individuals, who are part of the greater plan for the good of their community and our global world. Helping them find their way on a path with many twists and turns along the way is not just a goal at the Academy – it is our mission.
We encourage you to learn more about the history of our school and the value of single-sex education for girls in today’s changing world. Take a few minutes to watch our Visitation Academy HD video and be sure to schedule a personal tour of the Academy campus.
Welcome to the Visitation Academy community!
“Friendships begun in this world will be taken up again, never to be broken off.”
