Admissions Process

Our Admissions process requires three steps -- tour, shadow, and apply. Our Admissions process for PreK-3 & 4 and Kindergarten opened to new students on November 6th. The admissions process for new students entering grades 1st through 8th grades began on February 1st. Transfer students who meet academic criteria may apply to the Academy during the school year based on classroom availability.

Parent Tours

Our campus and classrooms are unique and a must see in downtown Frederick. To truly understand the title, Gem of Downtown Frederick bestowed on the Visitation Academy, you must visit our city-block wide campus.

Student Shadow Days

Once you visit our school, please have your daughter spend an hour, or the day with us at the Visitation Academy – our students love to welcome new girls and share their school.

Schedule Your Daughter’s Shadow Day with the Admissions Office

  • “Shadow Hour” with future classmates (PreK-3 and PreK-4 are not required to shadow)
  • Kindergarten thru 8th Shadow Day that begins @ 7:45 am and ends @ 2:45 pm. An entrance placement exam is mandatory for acceptance to the Academy for grades 1st - 8th.
    Our younger applicants undergo an academic screening process to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
