Financial Assistance/Scholarships

Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients! For the 2011-2012 academic year Visitation Academy students were awarded scholarships based on strong academic performance, high test scores and principal recommendations:

  • Seton Dubois Scholarship -- five students received this award
  • St. Peter Claver Scholarship
  • Sisters of Visitation Academy Scholarship
  • St. Augustine of Hippo Scholarship

We strive to continue the legacy of an exceptional education for all girls here at the Visitation Academy. Our long-held history established by the Visitation Sisters requires us to be good stewards to the school, and more importantly, to the girls who walk through our front gates hoping to enroll at the school.

FACTS Tuition Assistance Program

Those seeking tuition assistance for the 2012-2013 academic year, must apply online at FACTS -- please use the Academy zip code of "21701" to identify your student with the Visitation Academy. Qualifying Visitation Academy families will be awarded $750 per student based on family financial need. We strongly encourage all families who believe they may qualify for assistance to apply. You may submit your FACTS Tuition Assistance Application between now through March 15, 2012. Financial assistance awards are announced in the Spring for the upcoming academic year.

Visitation Academy Scholarships

  • Sisters of Visitation Scholarship (Visitation Academy) …$4,000
    A four-year scholarship ($1,000 each year) open to any 4th grade Catholic student belonging to a Frederick County parish to attend The Visitation Academy. Recipients should maintain at least a B average during each of the four years to retain the scholarship.
  • St. Augustine of Hippo Scholarship (Visitation Academy) …$2,000
    A four year scholarship ($500 each year) open to any 4th grade Catholic student belonging to a Frederick County parish to attend The Visitation Academy in Frederick County. Recipients should maintain at least a B average during each of the four years to retain the scholarship.

Friends of Catholic Education (FOCE) Scholarships

  • FOCE Scholarship (Open) …$4,000
    A four year scholarship ($1,000 each year) open to any 4th or 8th grade Catholic student belonging to a Frederick County parish to attend any Catholic school in Frederick County. Recipients should maintain at least a B average during each of the four years to retain the scholarship.
  • Smith Memorial Scholarship (Open) …$4,000
    A four year scholarship ($1,000 each year) open to any 4th or 8th grade Catholic student belonging to a Frederick County parish to attend any Catholic school in Frederick County. Recipients should maintain at least a B average during each of the four years to retain the scholarship.
  • Nallin Memorial Scholarship (Open) …$4,000
    A four year scholarship ($1,000 each year) open to any 4th or 8th grade student belonging to a Frederick County parish to attend any Catholic school in Frederick County. Recipients should maintain at least a B average during each of the four years to retain the scholarship.
  • Seton Dubois Scholarship (Open) …$1,000
    This is a one-year scholarship open to current students in grades 1st through 11th in any Frederick County Catholic School.

Friends of Catholic Education (FOCE) Food Gift Card Program

Friends of Catholic Education (FOCE) sponsors a Food Gift Card Program to assist parents in reducing the cost of tuition at the Catholic schools in Frederick County. Gift cards ordered from the grocery stores below earn tuition credit rebates:

  • Food Lion – 4%
  • Giant – 4%
  • Giant Eagle – 4%
  • Weis – 4%
  • Safeway – 3%

For example, if you purchase $100 Giant gift cards every week for a full year; you will earn $4.00/week or $208/year in tuition credits that are directly applied to your tuition bill. Family members and friends can purchase cards through you and have those credits applied to your tuition account. Frederick County Catholic school families have saved more than $1.5 million in tuition since the program began. SCRIP Program

This gift card program provides tuition discounts ranging from 3 to 17 percent at over 2,000 major retailers throughout the country including Sam’s Club/Walmart, Best Buy, Starbucks, Staples, Kohl’s, LL Bean, and many more. Plan ahead for your back-to-school shopping, holiday gift-giving season, travel, and weekly purchases to save hundreds of dollars on your tuition bill.
