Standardized Test Scores

At the Visitation Academy we administer two standardized tests. Our students take the Stanford10, a comprehensive multiple choice test that measures performance in reading, language arts, mathematics, spelling, science and social studies -- it is adminstered every Spring to students in grades 3 through 8. Scores on the Stanford 10 are ranked using national norms. Students' scores are compared to the scores of students nationally who took the exam; the national average is the 50th percentile.

Our students consistently test above the national average in all grades:

  • Overall, Visitation Academy students scored in the 76th percentile for Math and and Language Arts
  • Our Middle School students averaged in the 84th percentile for Math and 77th percentile for Language Arts
  • In Middle School Science our 6th through 8th graders scored in the 78th, 70th, and 82nd percentile for Science, respectively

In addition, the Stanford 10 provides Lexile measures that allow teachers to tailor instructional material to the needs of individual students in our small class setting.

The ACRE Exam is conducted annually for Grades 5 and 8 and measures our students understanding of the Catholic faith, beliefs, behaviors, attitudes and practices.
